Chafing Hacks

I absolutely love the sunshine and warm weather. But with that love also comes the hate that I can’t wear certain clothes because my thighs chafe. Honestly, the struggle is real. If you’re unfamiliar with Chafing, it is when part of the body rubs against something or another part of the body causing friction and soreness. It is actually quite common and I’ve suffered for years with it. The main and most common one in my opinion is chafing between the legs. It’s very painful and it makes walking in dresses or skirts (especially when I’m on holiday) very difficult.

I’ve done my research over the years to prevent or help myself when I do have it and I thought I’d share all that info with you today. Hopefully it will help any of you suffering with it too.

Talcum Powder – If I start getting sore between my legs I tend to put on some talcum powder to dry the area of my legs out that are rubbing. It usually does the trick and stops my legs from rubbing together. I always take a big tub of it when I go on holiday, then if I’m going out for the day I take a little one. It’s really quick and easy and so handy. The only thing is, you have to be careful with how much you use as it can leave white powder everywhere if you use too much.

Roll on Deodorant – This is also another good one and acts like a lubricant. It’s also handy to have in your bag, especially on a very warm day.

Anti Chafe Stick – I haven’t actually used this one yet but I have ordered it. It is quite pricey at £12 for a small stick, but reading the reviews from Amazon has given me confidence. You can get it here. I shall report how I get on with it over on my Twitter.. So make sure you follow me.

M&S Light Control Sheer Thigh Shimmer – So Brogan Tate tweeted about these a few days ago and they look amazing! As soon as I get paid I’m going to buy a pair of them, they are £18 but they honestly look worth it. The length of them on the legs are perfect and they’re going to make it so much easier to wear dresses and skirts this summer.

Vaseline / Savlon – These two are amazing for when you have blisters or rashes from chafing. I always keep one of these in my bag too and once I’ve used it’s usually cleared up within a day.

    I’m definitely going to try the anti chafe stick. Talc really does get everywhere, it’s not easy to control! Thanks for sharing x

      Me too I can’t wait for it to arrive. Yes I agree, it’s good for first thing before you go out and it’s good if you have a long skirt or dress on so you can’t see the white marks 🙈 talc is probably my most regular one because it’s so easy!

    Great tips. When it’s hot my thighs chafe like mad. My partner thinks I’m crazy but I knew I couldn’t be the only one with this issue🙈 I’ll try talc or vaseline x

    I love the hot weather but I hate wearing dresses or skirts as it’s so uncomfortable chaffing🙃 But, I always use talc powder and it is a life saver! I’m going to try some of these other hacks too, when the sunny weather comes back☺️
