23 Week Pregnancy Update

Well I can’t actually believe it… I’m 23 weeks pregnant already! 40 weeks really does seem like a long time when you think theres only 52 weeks in a year, but I’m over half way through already.

Things have changed since my 12 week update. I’d probably say the first 18 weeks were the hardest for me. I was sick every morning, I had zero energy and I could hardly eat somedays. In fact, I went for a check up last week and found out I’ve lost 5lbs since my first appointment. Due to my BMI being high though this isn’t a bad thing at all, but it proved how ill I really was.

Since then I am so much better, still sick every morning but thats always water and then I’m completely fine afterwards. I can eat pretty much properly again although I am trying to be much healthier now, I have loads more energy and (from what people have told me) I do now have a slight pregnancy glow. Which feels great.

We went for a scan when I was 20 weeks and found out were having a little boy. I am SO excited! I had a feeling it was a boy and kept saying ‘he’ weeks before the scan. Although I wasn’t fussed on what we had, I secretly think Dave was hoping for a boy so I’m very happy and we already have a name, yaaaay! It’s also made buying stuff for the baby a lot easier now and we can start planning bits and bobs for the nursery.

I’ve started to feel him wriggle loads inside of me now which I still feel is pretty weird but its such a surreal feeling. The best way I’ve found to describe it is when you’re holding in wind and your stomach bubbles, it’s exactly like that. He loves moving about so much that one day I actually googled (I know I know, stay off google when your pregnant) if it was bad him moving so much, but it turns out its perfectly fine. A wriggly baby is a happy baby.

But all in all, pregnancy seems to be going better right now. I obviously have some bad days as well, but the good currently out weigh the bad. Let’s hope it says that way.
