Hello 2021… It’s definitely been a while since I published a post on here, so what better time to do so than a brand new year. So where have I been? Well.. Nowhere really, especially in the current situation, but I won’t talk about that here haha. My last post I’m sure was about George turning 1, but I have since deleted that for reasons I’ll mention later on. I just kind of fell out of love with blogging again.
In April 2020, I went back to work after maternity leave and the first couple of months were very full on. We had enrolled George into nursery and he only did one full day before they all had to close. So I ended up working when Dave wasn’t, which like I said was very full on. Thankfully they opened again in June and we went back to some sort of routine. Not long after George turned 1, I also decided to take his face offline to the public. A few scary stories came up over a couple of weeks which shook me up big time and I decided I wanted to be in control of who exactly could see his face. Which is also why I deleted a few blog posts, obviously the ones with all his face in it. I still put up a few videos/photos on Instagram but have restricted it to just my ‘close friends’.
This year has definitely been a tough one and I very sadly lost my Gran in August. I was absolutely gutted that I never got a chance to say goodbye properly but was grateful I was able to make her funeral to say goodbye in between lockdowns. That was also the last time I saw my family. It’s been so sad we’ve not had the chance to go back to Wales to see anyone, I’m really missing them and all my friends too, especially as one has just had a baby! But hoping 2021 will change that.
We had our wedding cancelled for the second time, but have rebooked for July 2021 and just praying that it can all still go ahead. Would absolutely love, after such a rubbish year, to just celebrate with all our friends and family. I shall keep you updated on that one. Other than the wedding we don’t really have any plans for this year… It’s a bit weird isn’t it? Almost too scared to plan anything in case it’s cancelled.
One thing I have decided I want to do in 2021 is look after myself more, mentally and physically. With it being a tough year, it came with a lot of eating to just get through it ha. But the food I’ve been eating hasn’t been great and it’s had a big impact on my body, especially my skin and on my mental health. My plan isn’t to do anything drastically and I don’t plan on losing a huge amount of weight or anything, just planning on eating more healthily, drinking more water and making sure I get to 10,000 steps a day.
I do love a new year, a chance for a fresh new start at things, but I really am just hoping this year is a happier and healthier one for everyone. How was your 2020? Anything you’re looking forward to in 2021? What’s your NY resolutions?
